RIP Booklikes.

As I mentioned, I've gone audio here

Towards Zero - Agatha Christie

I've been working on a cross-stitch project for most of the day while I listen, and I don't know quite where I am in the book. I've read the book before, so I know the plot, but I don't know if I am at the halfway point or more like 2/3 finished.

I really love the beginning of this one - I love the way that Christie has structured it by giving us the disparate storylines that all end up coming together. I think it's almost better on reread, because I'm not struggling to keep track of everyone and I can just enjoy the incredible cleverness of the plotting. Mr. Treves (I think that's how his name is spelled) was a wonderful character and his end was both sudden and shocking.

I think that my favorite character is Mary Alden, though. She's a middle-aged Lucy Eyelesbarrow, with a smidge of Katherine Grey. I'm enjoying her so much this time around because I can concentrate on her character, since I know how the book is going to end.

Agatha is supreme comfort reading for me - I don't think I will ever tire of rereading her!
