A warm hello to all of my new followers, and thank you for joining me here! It seems like a good time to do a brief introduction and talk about what you will find on my booklikes blog!
I am a wife, a mother to two kids (a daughter who heads off to college this fall, and a son who starts high school), and a criminal sexual assault and child abuse prosecutor, as well as a reader. I try to read and discuss a nice mix of classics, literary fiction, and genre fiction here. About the only genres I don't read are memoir (I find them to be mostly self-indulgent hoo-hah), horror (I'm a genuine chicken) and true crime (because it is too easy for me to spot the "not true" part of "true crime").
You will also from time to time find me just meandering about, participating in memes like the bookadayUK that is an ongoing July event, talking about sexual assault, sexual abuse, slut shaming, and other feminist topics.
I love discussion, and welcome comments. If you've read the book I'm reviewing and disagree with me feel free to jump in and discuss it with me in the comments. If you just tell me I'm wrong, mean or stupid, I'll probably ignore you, but if you want to discuss your different perspective, then I'm happy to participate!
Anyway, welcome! And a big thanks to Booklikes for featuring me, which I've heard is responsible for all of this activity!
