Anne's House of Dreams - L.M. Montgomery I didn't remember this one being so bittersweet. Gilbert and Anne have married, and moved out to Four Winds, where Gilbert is taking over his uncle's medical practice. Anne is a young wife, not yet a young mother. There is a bit of angst in this one, in the form of their lovely neighbor, Leslie. Anne and Gilbert are charming, as always, and Gilbert has a bit more dimension in this book, although he remains idealized beyond believability. Captain Jim is one of the best characters in the series.
