The Quilty Reader

Lawyer, mother, avid reader. Game host extraordinaire! Partner in crime to Obsidian Black Plague! My bookish weaknesses include classics, fantasy, YA, and agreeing to read more books than is even remotely possible.

Anne of Windy Poplars - L.M. Montgomery This is among my favorite of the Anne books (although, really, how does one pick a favorite Anne?) because it is written in an epistolary style that really allowed LMM to explore Anne's voice in a much more personal way. And her voice is charming. I love Summerside, I love Spook's Lane, I love Little Elizabeth, and Katherine, and Rebecca Dew.

Windy Poplars is full of youthful idealism and young love. There is a sweetness and an innocence to Anne's love for Gilbert that is delightful.
