If this is noir, I need to read more noir

The Bride Wore Black - Cornell Woolrich

I finished this book and then was gone for a couple of days, so I haven't had the chance to write up my review. I can't post reviews on my phone - I get too irritated at having to use those on-screen keyboards!

I absolutely loved this book. Woolrich's writing is extremely sparse, and is perfect for the atmosphere he is trying to create. He doles out clues and information at exactly the right times to keep the reader guessing. And then he drops a plot twist on the reader at the very end that is stunning.

Like, seriously. Stunning. At least, I was stunned. And I'm not often stunned.

It was a perfect mystery.
