Not a bad little read

Just One Damned Thing After Another (The Chronicles of St Mary's) - Jodi Taylor

Two or so years ago, I read The Doomsday Book by Connie Willis, and absolutely loved it. I've never picked up the sequel, though, even though I think I would like it, because as long as it is out there unread, I know that someday I'll be able to read it, but if I read it then it's done and gone. Am I the only one who does this? Avoids reading books I want to read because I need to have something to look forward to - a bit of insurance against the day when nothing sounds good?

Anyway, I read this one, and it's a bit like a less serious, low-rent Connie Willis without all of the serious Connie Willishishness. A bit of camp. Plus, it rollicks along at the speed of light time-travel. Good fun. A bit dirty, too, in a good way.
