#BookadayUK 3: First rate twist

We Were Liars - E. Lockhart

So, most twists are entirely second rate, in my opinion. They tend to be either heavy-handed or rather silly. I have also read a lot of books that claim to have surprise twists, and I am rarely actually surprised.

So, I considered and rejected Gone Girl and Girl on the Train. I saw both of those coming for miles. And I can't use Agatha Christie for everyone of these answers, so Murder on the Orient Express, Crooked House and Death on the Nile, while they would qualify, are being ignored for now.

We Were Liars is the last book I read that I thought had a really well-done, surprise ending.
