Miss Marjoribanks - Margaret Oliphant

I actually have no idea where I am in this book, since I am reading it in one of those Delphi Collections. Based on the chapters, I'm guessing I am well over halfway (I am on Chapter 39 out of 52).

"But when all that was required was skill and self-possession and courage, Miss Marjoribanks knew herself too well to be afraid."

I really love this book. Miss Marjoribanks is hilarious - managing, competent and fairly well convinced that she knows what is best for everyone, including herself.
