Today I was at the local coffee shop

And there was an elderly man - he was at least 70 - sitting there alone, drinking his coffee, and he was reading

which is a YA vampire book (a pretty good, one, too, actually) and I felt such

FONDNESS

for this man I'd never met, who was sufficiently secure that he would read a YA vampire book in public.

I swear, I wanted to hug him. But that would be weird.

So, I didn't.

But it made my day.

(Also: is it weird that as I saw & felt all of this, I also was thinking

"I can't wait to share this with my booklikes friends, because they will totally GET it?")
